NOVA

The NOVA started in January 2009 with the aim of providing coordination between different initiatives along the country. NOVA is being built up onto a Grid infrastructure which enables each of the member institutions to be connected to NOVA while keeping their data at home. NOVA is a federal project which encourages and supports the participation of all astronomical institutions along the country.

NOVA has four main objectives
1.To coordinate the online access to astronomical data located in different institutions around the country.
2.To coordinate the publication of local data according to the VO standards and protocols agreed by the international astronomical community.
3.To foster and support the development of technical tools for handling and analysis of data.
4. To contribute to disseminate astronomy as an educational tool within the framework of e-science.

Technological aims
1.Development of the NOVA portal within the Grid Infrastructure.
2.Build up and mantain the NOVA Registry.
3.Develop an efficient interfase with the NOVA uses.
4.Work with other VOs to agree on international standards and protocols.
